Effective Date: 4 October 2026
The New Independence Party believes that rebuilding our homeland requires serious national dialogue, intellectual openness and the participation of citizens from different backgrounds, regions, professions and experiences.
The Party therefore welcomes thoughtful contributions that can enrich discussion about the future of our homeland and contribute to the development of the idea of a New Independence.
The purpose of providing a platform for contributions is not limited to presenting established Party positions. It is also intended to create space for ideas, questions, constructive criticism, research and alternative proposals that can contribute to national debate.
This Publication Policy applies to articles, opinion pieces, research papers, policy proposals, studies, comments and other written or intellectual contributions submitted to the Party for possible publication on its website or other official platforms.
Official Party documents, including the Founding Document, Constitution, Regulations, Policies and formal Party statements, are governed by the Party’s own approval and constitutional procedures and are not treated as individual contributions under this Policy.
The Party welcomes original and substantive contributions concerning matters relevant to the present and future of our homeland.
These may include political and constitutional reform, governance and public administration, national identity and citizenship, peace and national reconciliation, justice and the rule of law, federalism and regional governance, economic development, management of national resources, education, reconstruction, culture and history, relations with South Sudan, the role of the diaspora, and other matters relevant to the country’s future.
Contributions may support, question, criticise or propose alternatives to ideas advanced by the Party.
The Party is committed to encouraging serious and respectful national discussion.
A contribution will not be rejected merely because its author disagrees with a Party position, questions a Party proposal or advances an alternative view.
Criticism should address ideas, policies, institutions, decisions or conduct rather than descend into personal abuse.
The purpose of the platform is to encourage informed disagreement and constructive exchange rather than to require conformity with a particular view.
Unless expressly identified as an official Party document or statement, a contribution published on the website represents the views of its author.
Publication does not mean that the Party agrees with, adopts or endorses the opinions, conclusions or recommendations expressed in the contribution.
The Party may publish differing or opposing perspectives where it considers that doing so contributes constructively to national discussion.
Contributions should be relevant to the purposes of the platform and presented in a clear and constructive manner.
Where factual claims are material to an argument, contributors should take reasonable care to ensure their accuracy and, where appropriate, identify reliable sources.
Academic, professional and technical contributions should observe reasonable standards appropriate to their subject matter.
The Party may request clarification, supporting information or sources before deciding whether to publish a contribution.
The Party will not knowingly publish material that is unlawful; directly threatens or incites violence; advocates hatred or unlawful discrimination; contains defamatory allegations without reasonable basis; deliberately presents materially false information as fact; unlawfully infringes another person’s privacy; infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights; constitutes plagiarism; or contains malicious personal attacks unrelated to legitimate political or public discussion.
This provision will not be used to prevent legitimate criticism, political disagreement, historical discussion or good-faith examination of controversial issues.
Contributors must submit their own work or material that they are legally entitled to submit.
Quotations, research and material originating from other sources should be appropriately acknowledged.
Contributors remain responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not unlawfully infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights.
Unless otherwise agreed, authors retain ownership of their original work. By submitting material that is subsequently accepted for publication, the author grants the Party permission to edit, format, translate, reproduce, publish, distribute and archive the contribution on its official platforms.
All submissions may be reviewed before publication.
The Party may correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, formatting and obvious typographical errors without changing the substance of a contribution.
Where proposed editing would materially affect the meaning, argument or conclusions of a contribution, the Party will, where reasonably practicable, consult the author before publication.
The Party retains editorial discretion to accept or reject submissions and is under no obligation to publish every contribution received.
The Party seeks to make important national discussions accessible in both Arabic and English.
A contribution accepted for publication may therefore be translated from Arabic into English or from English into Arabic.
Translations will seek to preserve the substance and intended meaning of the original contribution.
Where a material difference arises between a translation and the original text, the original-language version will prevail unless expressly stated otherwise.
Contributions will ordinarily be published under the author’s name.
Where an author has legitimate personal, professional or security reasons for not being publicly identified, the Party may permit publication anonymously or under a pseudonym.
In such circumstances, the Party may require the author’s true identity to be disclosed confidentially before publication. That identity will be protected and will not be disclosed except with the author’s consent or where disclosure is required by applicable law.
The publication of an independent contribution does not prevent the Party from responding to it, commenting upon it or publishing a different perspective.
Where appropriate, the Party may identify separately any official response to a contribution so that readers can distinguish clearly between the author’s views and the Party’s position.
The Party is committed to maintaining the integrity of material published on its platforms.
Where a significant factual error is identified after publication, the Party may correct the error in consultation with the author where appropriate.
Where a correction materially affects the substance of a contribution, an editorial or correction note may be added so that the nature of the change is transparent to readers.
Where a published contribution contains substantial criticism of an identifiable person, institution, policy or published argument, the Party may, where appropriate, provide a reasonable opportunity for a response.
Any response will be subject to the same publication standards as the original contribution.
The purpose of a right of reply is to promote informed and balanced discussion and not to prevent legitimate criticism.
Material may be removed after publication where the Party determines that there are substantial legal, security, privacy, copyright or factual concerns, or where the material is subsequently found to have materially breached this Policy.
Published material will not be removed merely because it expresses legitimate criticism of the Party or because the Party subsequently disagrees with the author’s opinion.
Personal information provided in connection with a submission will be handled in accordance with the Party’s Privacy Policy.
Contributors should avoid including unnecessary personal information concerning themselves or other individuals in material submitted for publication.
Contributions may be submitted through the relevant contribution facility on the website or through an email address designated by the Party for that purpose.
Submission of a contribution constitutes acknowledgement that the material may be reviewed and, if accepted, edited, translated and published in accordance with this Publication Policy.
Submission does not create an obligation on the Party to publish the contribution.
The New Independence Party does not ask citizens simply to agree with us.
We invite them to think with us, question us, challenge our assumptions, and contribute their knowledge and experience to the development of the idea of a New Independence and to the wider national conversation about the future of our homeland.
The Party may amend this Publication Policy from time to time as its activities and publication platform develop.
Any revised version will be published on the website together with its effective date.
